Pride Doesn't End on June 30

As Pride Month comes to an end, I've been thinking a lot about this past year and everything that has led to this moment.

When I started The Inclusive Brew, I wasn't just trying to open a coffee shop. I was trying to create the kind of space I wish more of us had—a place where everyone feels like they belong the moment they walk in. A place where people don't have to wonder if they'll be accepted, where community comes before anything else, and where kindness is part of every interaction.

There are moments when running an openly LGBTQIA+-owned business feels exciting, and there are moments when it feels vulnerable. Choosing the name The Inclusive Brew wasn't a marketing decision. It was a promise—a promise that every person who visits our trailer today, and one day walks through the doors of our café, will be welcomed with kindness, respect, and without ever having to question whether they belong.

That promise has guided every decision I've made, from the events we attend to the people we partner with, the way we interact with our guests, and the community we're working to build. It isn't always the easiest path, but it's the only one that feels true to who we are.

This June felt different.

For the first time, The Inclusive Brew wasn't just an idea on paper or a dream I talked about—it was out in the community. Our beverage trailer rolled into Pride events across Connecticut, and I had the chance to meet so many incredible people. I watched strangers become friends while waiting for drinks, families stop by to say hello, and people share why seeing an openly queer-owned business meant something to them.

Those conversations are what I'll remember most.

They reminded me that what we're building isn't just about serving coffee or dirty sodas. It's about creating connection. It's about making people feel seen. It's about proving that businesses can lead with compassion and community while still dreaming big.

There were moments this month that made me stop and realize, This is exactly why I started.

Every event, every conversation, every person who chose to support us reminded me that this journey is bigger than me. The Inclusive Brew belongs to everyone who believes communities are stronger when every person feels welcome.

As grateful as I am for Pride Month, I'm also grateful that our mission isn't limited to June.

Tomorrow the rainbow decorations may come down in many places, but ours won't—not because they're decorations, but because they're part of who we are.

We'll continue showing up at events.
We'll continue creating welcoming spaces.
We'll continue supporting LGBTQIA+ organizations and our local community.
We'll continue believing that something as simple as sharing a drink can bring people together.

Being a queer-owned business isn't our marketing strategy—it's our story. It's the reason The Inclusive Brew exists in the first place.

To everyone who has stopped by the trailer, shared our posts, invited us to an event, recommended us to a friend, or simply believed in this dream from the beginning: thank you.

Your support means more than you probably realize.

The trailer is just the beginning. The dream has always been to open a permanent home for The Inclusive Brew—a place where people can gather every day, not just at events. Every cup we serve, every event we attend, and every connection we make brings us one step closer to that goal.

Pride began as a movement for visibility, dignity, and the right to exist authentically. Those values don't disappear on July 1, and neither do ours.

So while Pride Month is ending, our commitment isn't.

We'll keep showing up.
We'll keep building community.
We'll keep creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and welcome.

Because everyone deserves a place where they belong.

Happy Pride—not just in June, but every day of the year.
